SHORT TERM TEAMS FROM AUSTRALIAN CHURCHES

From Australia and unsure about where to do some short term missions for your young adults? Why not come to Hong Kong the gateway to China. Hong Kong is a city of approx 7million people (over 2 million of those fall between the ages of 17 and 29.)

Jesus Life House is seeing loads of young Cantonese speaking people making positive life choices for Jesus and becoming leaders within the church and the city. JLH Hong Kong is committed to reaching this generation and the next in a relevant and effective way.

Previous short term teams have not only had a lot of fun whilst being here but have made a positive impact in people lives. There are people in our church today that would not be had it not been for the efforts of short term teams. As well as this, those that do come are encouraged and inspired to take what they have learned and experienced back to their own churches and cities/towns in order to make a difference in Australia.

Here is some information that will help for planning a short term team.

Recommended Team Size – No less than 4 people no maximum

Time period – 1 or 2 weeks

What would you be doing

Outreach – This is the primary reason you and your team would come. To reach the young people of Hong Kong. This would mean meeting people in places such as McDonalds, KFC, University and on the street and being involved in other forms of outreach as organized by JLH Hong Kong.

Your team would come to serve and bless Hong Kong and Jesus Lifehouse Hong Kong church.

Planning Information

Finance – All financial responsibility will rest on you and your team. Jesus Life House Hong Kong will not bear any of the expense of your stay.

- Flight Costs (approx. $1200 return, some airlines offer special rates during certain seasons)

- Accommodation (we will provide you with options for accommodation) Range between $250 to $400Aus for the week

- Food Expense - min$150 and $250max for week

- Transport - Airport Express from Airport ($200HK return approx. *$30Aus)

Octopus Card for travel ($50HK deposit (returned when leave HK) and $100HK for the week, all up approx. $25Aus for week)

Special Skills - Please inform us of any special talents people within your group have that we may be able to use for outreach e.g. musical, dance etc

Come with a heart to serve

Health problems – please inform us of any health problems within your team that may be an issue so that we are able to plan accordingly.

Have Fun – Hong Kong people are the best people in the world, fun and friendly and open to foreigners especially Australians.

NB: All teams must be part of a Local Church and will need to have not only their Senior Ps Approval but also the Approval of Jesus Lifehouse Pastors.
